## Job Summary/Basic Function
DRSS is looking for a mild to moderate intervention specialist to join our team in the fall of 2018. The selected candidate will design and support an educational program for students as defined in the students' Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.). The IS will work cooperatively with regular classroom teachers, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students, assisting in classroom intervention strategies, modifying general education curricular as necessary, and assisting the students with regular class assignments.
## Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in education or related field earned by August 1, 2018
* Intervention Specialist license or qualified for alternative license by August 1, 2018
* Outstanding communication and collaborative skills
## Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience working as an intervention specialist
* Experience working in a full-inclusion setting
* Experience with project-based or problem-based learning and accompanying differentiated assessments
* Master's degree or master's level coursework completed
## Essential Functions and percent of time
* Plan, teach, and provide individualized intervention services to students on IEPs - 70%
* Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to enhance services to students - 10%
* Communicate regularly with parents and profession staff regarding the educational, social, and personal needs of the students - 10%
* Complete necessary reports and participate in IEP, ETR and other meetings - 10%
## Working Conditions
Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply. Length of contract is one year, renewable, contingent upon funding.
